When I wake up I’m lying on a wooden cot in a jail cell. My clothes
& knife & shoes are all gone. I touch my face & my right
eye is swollen pretty bad, but I seem pretty okay. I get up &
walk to the door of the cell & say, “Hello?” Two men in rags
come over. The large one grabs my arms & pulls it through the
bars & the younger thin one stabs me with a needle & injects something.
Before I’ve really started to struggle to get my arm back my knees give
& the man lets go & I fall all the way to the floor. My whole
body feels like it’s throbbing. My back teeth start to feel like
they’re growing & I throw up & pass out.
